My Story
I grew up around geeks, it's the story of my entire life. Chiefly through my father, a technologist of a different sort. Starting his career as a cardiologist he spent a big portion of his life dedicated to medical research and technology at Hannehmann Hospital and Safeguard Scientifics, in addition to working with corporate luminaries like HP and Motorola in the late 70's early 80's. He inspired quite a few big thinkers in his day. Like my brother, who worked in AI and VR all while teaching himself C back when most people thought it was just a letter or a type of vitamin in orange juice.
I took a slightly different route 'escaping' the east coast to for my undergraduate degree at The Colorado College. I stayed for a brief time, worked in Management Consultancy but eventually made the stress-relieving jump into technology. For the last 3 years I've worked with a small venture capital fund in Indianapolis, Indiana. We invest in early-stage technology companies with a deep Indiana University connection who want to change the world. I'm now pursuing my MBA at Kelley School of Business at Indiana University Bloomington while working part-time with great people.
I work with and around some of the most wonderfully brilliant people, though my financé sometimes smirks at the freneticism of the education and career I've chosen.
(I owe it all to you SLR.)
